Store Locator Plus posts a public Privacy Policy about the company and our services.   Most of the policy is related to our direct customers, however you should make yourself familiar with the Privacy Policy there as it should be considered incorporated as part of this Privacy Policy.

Store Locator Plus offers plugins and Software As A Service that can be incorporated into other websites and mobile apps.

Sites and applications that incorporate our software should include this information on what our plugins and services do in regards to information related to users of those apps or sites.    Store Locator Plus is not responsible for additional data or privacy issues as a result of third party services, websites, or applications incorporating our products and services on their site.

Remember, Store Locator Plus is open source software and can be altered by third parties when it is incorporated on their website.   This privacy policy assumes not modification have been made; such changes deem our products and services a new modified entity and thus is not covered by these privacy policy declarations.

Who We Work With

Third-party Geolocation and Mapping Providers

This term is used throughout this privacy policy.  Currently,  “third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers” means Google.

Our products and services are currently solely based on Google technology.

Plans are underway to develop new versions of our software that use other third party services.  When those versions are put into general circulation we will update this privacy policy accordingly.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Store Locator Plus plugins and services software does not collect personally identifiable data.

When visitors use the maps or directory presented by Store Locator Plus on a site the site may opt to collect the data shown in the search form and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string.   That data may also include a users current latitude and longitude if location services have been enabled within the software we provide.

The latitude and longitude is collected via standard mechanisms provided by web browsers and mobile apps.  Privacy-compliant browser and apps will allow a user to opt-out of this automatic location detection.   Our software honors this request.

Latitude and longitude data is used to help locate a user in their current location and display a map or directory of services near the user in real-time.    This feature may not be enabled by all sites and applications in which our software and service has been embedded.    The feature is disabled by default.

Cookies

Store Locator Plus software uses WordPress and third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers, both of which store information in cookies in your browser.   Familiarize yourself with WordPress and third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers privacy policies for information on how long they store this data.

Embedded content from other websites

The Store Locator Plus plugins and services will typically embed maps from the third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers.

Who we share your data with

Store Locator Plus will share some information with third party services, primarily Google, including your IP address, browser string, and any information you entered as an address in the locator search form.   Typically this is an address string but user’s type some creative things in those search boxes.    If the locator service is enabled the a latitude and longitude of your current location will be shared with with third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers.

How long we retain your data

Your data is only retained for the amount of time it takes to get a request processed with third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers.

If the location reporting feature has been enabled by a site that incorporates the Store Locator Plus software the address search string along with an IP address that made the search can be stored indefinitely on the site.

What rights you have over your data

There is no personally identifiable data stored by the Store Locator Plus software or service.

Where we send your data

There is no personally identifiable data sent to third parties by the Store Locator Plus software or service.  IP address, browser string, and latitude/longitude may be sent to third-party Geolocation and Mapping providers.
